A battle in which an otherwise timid Austrian (red) commander, Prince Charles of Lorraine, made a bold decision to attack the divided Prussian army (blue) nearly wiping out the contingent nearest him, and for a time holding the town. Austrians are on the attack here, and there are no up-grades. Read enclosed material.
Author [HWK]Stu, Hochkirk (FB Map) 1758 (Seven Years War). Frederick the Greats' second defeat in this war, after Kolin, it was almost his last. The Austrians not only surprised the Prussian army, they boldly maneuvered to surround and annihilate it! Frederick barely escaped. Two up-grades for Prussians, green must be added as computer ally. Author [HWK]SirWilliam, Douro (FB Map) 1809 (Peninsular War). A further study in the Peninsular War by SirWilliam in which the dry, arid topography of Portugal is featured. This action saw the British (green) cross the river Douro against superior French numbers (red) and drive them back. Several up-grades, read enclosed material.
