Yes,
First Knight is just plain ridiculous, the plate armor worn by troops of British'Romano period? OI WIE! It's like a bad musical that movie.
Yes, I actually really enjoyed the gritiness and attempts at historical accuracy of this last King Arthur movie however. Yeah, Guineveire, hmmm, well, it was all that lip pouting that annoyed me, much akin to Angelina Jolie (Alexanders mom, Lara Croft etc) where you see her in action and you just KNOW she's thinking "Everyone look at my lips!" instead of concentrating on what it is she's actually doing.
The Saxon King was great, and one thing that I thought was interesting was their obvious reference to later Germanic ideology (Nazis) when the Saxon King rebukes a soldier for raping a local Briton woman by stating something like "we don't want to mix our warriorblood with inferior stock." I'm not sure how prevelant this sort of thinking would have been for Germanic tribes of the time, and so the film-maker obviously appeals to our knowledge of LATER ideologies to make us REALLy despise these guys.
But, it is true that the Saxon raiders were quite ruthless, and as the Roman shoreline posts diminshed while Roman power wained, the Britons were subject to ever increasing barbarites from these early sea raiders.
The movie really captures this historical reality, and also portrays the fact that these Roman garrisons were often soldiered by auxilleries from the far reaches of the Mediteranean. I liked this movie a lot. _________________

I haven't seen Alexander but I was quite sure his mother was played by "Catherine Zeta Jones" ( wife to Michael Douglas ).......probably easy to mistake them both as they are dark skinned, dark haired and extremely bootiful _________________

I enjoyed the movie by just ignoring the Arthurian Legend/Myth aspects that I already have seen in other movies. Historically I found some parts representative of the time period but others a tad bit hard to believe. It is not what i would call a "thinking movie".
I would not want to watch the movie again in the near future though
Cheers,

I just found it hard to stomach that movie, And as drake mentioned that reference to nazism, was that REALLY necessary? Alot of the FACTS they used are still being disputed, i dont know if i believe that the knights came from the steps, and i dunno but just watching guinivere fighting made the part of me that likes historical accuracy cringe, im with blackpool, i wont be watching this again anytime soon _________________

Hmmmmmm!
Are you telling me that Angelina Jolien has lips!!
I missed that? Suppose i was focused in on other parts!
Her acting ability of course!
Not seen the movie, but i am easy to please wen it comes to movies. Must have good story, and good action sceens.
But I always like the strong "woman warrior" theme It makes the story not need to be as stronge and I still enjoy it.

PS really shes got lips? |

Havent seen this movie, didnt want to. When I saw the advertisment for it I just thought UUUURRRRKKK. Is that woman supposed to be Guinevere? She looks like a witch and the knights of the round table both looks and behave like wild Buffalos! No chivalery at all....When will it ever be made a good movie about this legend? Now Hollywood have raped the beauty and mystic bloody of two legends, Arthur and Alexander. What will be next? Something from Scandinavia perhaps? _________________

Kirk Douglas, good viking......baaah! He had no beard as every true viking shall have. Well, take a look at Meik! He looks like a TRUE viking. Only scandinavians like he and me could play them in Hollywood pictures...now what the...we ARE vikings in our heretic blood we dont even need to pretend! Right Meik? _________________
