I suggest:

We play on historical battle fields only.

We play with only the Nations that were represented at that battle.

We use army lists published on the Hawks website if they are available.

The usual exemplary good behaviour will prevail.

Let me know what you think Hawks.

Well, sounds good to me Elv having the focus of our MTW presence be historical battle fields with those lists as provided here. Perhaps, as they are developed, these lists plus any fields that are made in the future and whatever else is originated will give us the material for the MTW page at the main site.

ok i may sound like a bitch but i think if u only play with set line ups u would be getting rid of 1 of the most unique features of mtw! the ability for each general to bring trooops they feel confident commanding! This isnt fb the online community for mtw is excellent, most players are curtious and fun people to be around! I think we should play historical battles but also play fictional battles! there fun and are actually harder to win then a historical battle. I would be greatly dissapointed if our glorious leader the drake were to ask hwks to only play historical battles on mtw icon_sad.gif it really ruins the game to limit it like that!

i think you would be free to play fictional battles, after all we do play historical battles here in FB so in my humble and superior opinion, i would guess it would be alright

Yes, you understood me completely Sharpe but you didn't get the whole picture, I also want you to wear a historically accurate helmet while playing AND only speak in the native tongue of the army you are commanding. Yup, that'll do. LOL, I am kidding you Sharpe. Elv and EMPEROR are in charge of MTW m8, and as you can tell, Elv has really been working out our niche. But it's all still being worked out so just have fun.

I have an interest in historical battles. I have played many 'points' battles over the years and have found them a bit sterile. I have entered many wargames competitions over the years and taken my historically accurate army based on points, to competitions only to find myself facing an army of 'perfect troops'. I have seen my Scottish Covenanter infantry swept away by Italian Rennaisance lancers en mass. No skill in that I'm affraid.

I do love history and it is what keeps me interested in strategy wargaming. I have never criticised others for choosing such armies and have been beaten with good grace. I can play fictional 'points' battles any time with some marvelous people, but I cannot play historical Medieval battles on there at the moment. It is a great shame because, as you will have seen on Time Commanders, the game is perfectly suited to historical battles.

Not wanting to get in the way of other Hawks who want to play fictional battles on the server, and this is still the only way to play at the moment anyway, let us not talk of rules but on guidelines. I am looking forward to our historical battle myself and I like your recent army list and cannot wait to try it Sharpe.

Thanks for the big battle last night Emperor. Sorry you had to go. We were winning easily until the main body of the infantry just stood still. Unlike Cossacks, if someone leaves, we cannot take over the troops. I had all the Teutonic Knight Cavalry and Richard had the Longbow men. We had 32 units between us. When your 16 Shock units stood still, it became a real challenge. The game eventually got disconnected but we could still have won. It was a massive and great game. We would have won mate.

Now my apology to you. Falcon had a rather noisy and long sleep over last night and I fell asleep when I had promised to be on line. Sorry mate.

Looks like we will be seeing UK on Monday and Sharpe wants to show him the ropes too. This means that, on Monday, UK, Sharpe, Emperor, Me and Falcon should all be on with a bit of luck.

Last night I had three people all saying they wanted to join our clan. I directed them alll to the Hawks site and will hope to year from them again.
