As I was visiting the site today I realised, we have loads of banners. But the hawks lack one thing that almsot all other clubs have- a badge, something definite that identifys us as a club. So i was thinking, could we run a competition to design a hawks badge? and whoever wins gets the satisfaction of seing their design on the home page for hundreds of people 2 see...or tens anyway...

Hi Guys

Well I want the prize now, because and correct me if I'm wrong my submission is already the hawks logo and may not be subject to change, under the hawks charter section 32 and I quote " This is the hawks banner", so if my submission is the only one that is going to be accepted, then technically I win.

Actually this hawks coat of arms has significant meaning to the group.

Well the chain indicates the bond within the group and I think the crown indicates that this is the coat of arms of the hawk leader and the feathers may indicate that of hawk feathers, I may be wrong but I'm sure the Drake will correct me if I am, when he reads this post, because he created it and now it's bestowed upon Theo. If the hawks went into battle as a group, this I'm sure would be our banner. Not sure but the green might represent the battlefield and the red stripe I don't know.

Yes, you are right on several points, but let me set the record straight here SW...this is not the offical Hawks logo.

About 1 1/2 years ago we entered into a debate (initiated by Green) as a club about creating a club logo, and this also carried over into a flag that would be seen by our names in the Cossacks server. Several were created (Kosciuszko made one, the Countess and others I think) but the debate lost momentum and never came to anything. One of the reasons was because we moved into AC/FB where flags cannot be seen. The club symbol idea also was dropped.

Well, the one that I created during this brief flury activity I just adopted as my personal Coat of Arms (Theosis has created his OWN Coat of Arms by the way). This is why I use it as my Avatar.

I shall explain the symbolism; 1) The field is green obviously because it's where we meet as a group, on the battle field 2)The stripe of red is for the blood shed on our fields of glory 3) chains for the bonds of friendship that bind our group 4) the crown because we rule the fields (Masters of the Field) 5) the ribbon because in heraldry Blue represents honor and of course 6) the wing is in reference to our name, the Hawks.

So, like many subjects that have been addresed in our group, this one kinda fell by the wayside and like I said, I just decided to use my little creation for my own personal sheild. Now that this idea has surfaced again, I am sure we could come up with something a little more exciting and cool looking (doesn't have to be a sheild you know) that could represent our group (a logo for the fabled T-shirts that I know will be made one day).

I'm looking forward to seeing some of these ideas if Theosis decides to pursue this debate.

Looks like the logo or banner competition is on mate, Drakes coat of arms is not the official one.
