Hi all

I started to refresh this topic so few news about ALEXANDER movie - as i heard - release date is changed from 1 October to 29 October... Oliver Stone decided to change some scenes and to make bigger accent on homosexual side of Alexander - " for sure Alexander was bisexual and i must show it in my movie " said Stone. Thats why movie negative must be cuted and some new scenes will be pasted...

Looks Drake was right thats Stone is not really honest and rather loooking for good subject for his "controversial" image...

Nothing is for sure about ALexander The Great ... except that specially Mr Stone has no any special knowledge about him... Many gossips and theorys are written but no proof for it. Alexander in opossite to his father never was great lover - he has wife and few lovers but it was rather for prestige. In Persia it really odd when powerful man has no any lovers.
About homosexuality of Alexander nothing is for sure .Stone is talking that Alexander had his favourit.. Many kings had favourits but its doesnt mean they sleep with them .. But homosexual side of Alexander wasnt his worst sin... Acccording to gossipis Alexander, after he started be paranoic - he was doing much much worst things.. ( no details ! ) All its only theory ofcource - but im really intresting if Stone want to show all gossips or only few which can be acceptable ....

Yes, interesting topic Kosciusko, for those of you who don't know what we're talking about here is what I had written in early June,

Oliver Stone on Alexander the Great, huh? I am fearful. Oliver is not what I would call a military enthusiast. He wouldn't know a hoplon if is stabbed him in the...well, lets just say he dwells more on the perverse and conspiritorial than the historically accurate.

Get ready for large doses of 1) Greek homosexuality 2) plots by the "conservative Greeks" to kill Alexander 3) moral equivilances between Oriental despotism and Greek democracy, and on and on.

Yet, fearful as I am, like the Kennedy movie, I will go see it, leave reality and just get "Stoned" for awhile."

And so while Americans eat up ridiculous hoax history books like "The DaVinci Code" and the like, the English are delving into the classics (I read that Amazon.uk's top two sellers are the Iliad and the Odyssey respectively! )We really need an educational revival in this country...the classics rule, Maya Angelu sucks..there, I said it!

Guys, Guys come on!!!

Oliver stone has made some fantastic movies. Don't tell me you guys didn't watch Platoon, The Doors or even Nixon and didn't enjoy it. Who cares if Alexander was or was not bisexual, does that make him a lesser general or even less interesting. I think Oliver might just entertain you guys popcorn and all. Smile

dont read too many reviews m8, just go and see the film, I wont tell you what disturbed me in the film in order not to affect your impression of the film, UK have fun watching it.
