I agree that we should hold off on recruitment for now. All gamers on MTW play battles, there is no such thing as deathmatch. We are less exclusive there. I am working on some battle maps right now. I have some prepared by others who are interested in historical battles. We must play big battles, and i think we will need army lists to ensure historical accuracy. At the moment I have not even managed to get the clan registered or meet others on line.
We need a presence. Once we are seen on mass as [HWK]..... and are playing our own historical battles. We will be on fire.
Others have an interest but in what we do and they are good people. All say Good luck and Good game. They are sporting and welcoming people on the whole.
All love to fight strategy battles and so it is an excelent recruiting ground. The battles are very easy to set up at the moment and they can see no reason to complicate them by making them historically accurate at the potential cost of game balance.
When we get four per side on a historical battle field: that will make sixty four 'regiments' per side and with no chance of others 'stealing' our troops during the battle, we will be a big attraction I'm sure.
If you want the mod. I have it and can send it to you. The mod is really great. It comes with a vast range of Napoleonice troops. Beware when you down load the mod that it can affect the appearance of your medieval troops. You may lose leg or sometimes complete horser riders and it is like you are chaging in with invisible men.
I will send anyone the mod who wants it but you cannot have two versions of MTW VI at the same time. The only way to get rid of the mod is to uninstall and reinstall.
I recommend avoiding the mod for now. Very few play on line with the mod anyway so it would stop others from joining our battles.
For now let us invite others to join once we have our battles set up and we have a good presence on the server. Slowly slowly catcheee monkey.
We first need to start meeting on the server, and as Hawks. I can be on at 8pm anynight but Friday. I am in the UK so that should give you an idea of the time I will be on. I cannot be on later than 9.30 pm.
As for becoming a MTW Hawk. I think we should avoid this for now. When asked, we should explain that we are still developing our own games and they are free to play in any of them provided they follow the basic rules of decency. Once we have a presence, as we do on Cossacks, we can invite them to challenge us at some preset battles.
Again, I say, let us meet en mass. It is what we do best.
We can create som epic medieval battles with what we have. I have already found a 'Quatra Bras' map for the mod. With a little effort we can reproduce some great Napoleonic battles on there, and the MTW server is much better set up for battle tactics that Cossacks.
Delving into the mod will only split an already small band of men.
Let me know what you think. I speak as though I have all the answers, but I am willing to be shot down. _________________ He either fears his fates too much

wait will all our battles have to be napolianic times? i myself prefer th medevial times and i think it would be a waste if u mapmakers setup just napolianic battlkes if it was medevil battles we could get the numbers to be almost man for man in some battles, while napolianic battles would still be scaled down _________________

No no no Sharpe, the whole point of getting into MTW is to add some variety to our historical gaming. I have ALWYAS stressed that we NOT just fixate on Napoleons battles as some seem to think these are the only battles worth fighting. Nay, nix, niet to that. As you notice in AC/FB I pushed hard for Seven Years War battles and American Revolution. I love historical battles from ALL periods of history, and hopefully MTW is going to give us the ability to game some great Medieval battles, Agincourt, Crecy, Poiters, Manzikert, Tours, Hastings, Chalons, etc etc. I love medieval history and want to sink my teeth into some of these type scenarios. _________________

Yes, I agree with you Elv, we should avoid the Napoleonic MOD for now. Lets explore the truly Medival aspect of this game and the tactics of this time period. Sooner or later we will develop a method for playing that makes the duplication of certain Medival battles a unique Hawk experience. GingerFish mentioned that Hastings might already be a battle option, glad to hear it. Yes, I hope that MTW will be a place where Hawks, after reading some great medieval history book, will be able to come test their OWN knowledge of war at this time period and relive some of what the read. _________________

Well,
Only if you want to YOSHI. Really, this MTW offers some variety however I am not expecting most Hawks to get into it. It is not like CossacksII where the whole group will be shifting focus completely so really it is completely fine to wait for the release of CII my friend. _________________

I highly doubt that release date, and i would not get to excited about it.
GSCs newsletter said it would be out the fourth quarter of 2004, it would be nice, but again, i think the game is not quite finished. I would prefer if they delay and give me a good game, than rather take out a game too soon because of competition fears.
