HDN Download and Instructions

Instructions:
1. If you already have American Conquest Divided Nation installed, skip to step 3.

2. Install American Conquest Divided Nation from the disk.

3. Make a copy of your American Conquest - Divided Nation folder (by default this is in Program Files). Now try running DMCR.exe located in your Divided Nation\Run folder. If it doesn't work, try the solutions here until it does work.

4. Click the DOWNLOAD LINK at the top of this post. This will download HDN_Setup.exe. Run this to install HDN. When it asks which folder to install to, point it to your new copy of the American Conquest - Divided Nation\Run folder.

5. Double-click the HDN shortcut on your desktop, or HDN.exe in your Run folder (which is inside the copy of the ACDN folder that you made), to start HDN. This will launch the updater.You always have to start the game this way, do not run DMCR.exe or anything else to start the game!

6. Once it's updated, you can click the "Launch HDN" button that appears. This starts American Conquest Divided Nation which now will have the mod installed. If the updater stops with the progress bars empty for more than 30 seconds, with the message "Updating mod..." or "Updating maps..." just close it and run it again.

To play online:
7. In the main menu, click Multiplayer -> Internet Game. If you don't already have an online account with any of the American Conquest games, you have to create a new account using your game CD code. Be sure to record the information you enter here! If you do have an account with a game in the American Conquest series, you can use it for all of the games in the series. One way to do this is by copying the "Internet" folder from the main directory of whatever AC game you have into the AC:DN Run folder.

You mean HDN and HEW?

HEW is based on the Napoleonic Wars. HDN is based on the American Civil War. There are major gameplay differences between the two.

I personally prefer HDN over HEW, basically in HEW there is a more variety of troops that are good for different things and more different types of cavalry. You probably have to be more involved in it and there are more aspects to learn then in HDN. HDN probably is quite a bit easier to learn and has stronger cannons and only one type of cavalry and for the most part the infantry are about the same strength(rebs are a little bit stronger then yanks in general for each troop but start will less troops). Everyonce in awhile you will get special infantry that fire faster but they are easy to recognize for fairly new player. You will have to play both games to see which you prefer!

does the hdn mod work with american conquest three centires war

yes because that is actually the anthology version which has 3 separate games on it

it only works with divided nation of which you have

u don't have to, we play on gameranger (gameranger.com) all you do is download the program, host a room/join other player's rooms and play with them online, No CD's required! we play IP to IP. join us if you wanna

Yes i would like to join but i cant figure out how to download hdn mod do i need the mod in able to play woth you guys

The download link is in the first page. here is what you do in detail:

once you finish downloading, run the file you downloaded (HDN_Setup) And install HDN anywhere you wanna.

then, go exactly where you installed it, there will be a folder called "Run". go inside that folder and copy everything in it. everything, Then you go to the file where you installed ACDN (American conquest divided nations) And go inside a folder called Run. inside this folder there should be a DMCR.EXE. paste what you copied from your HDN folder there, Than Run the launcher from inside

another easier way is to just install HDN towards your ACDN/run folder. and than run the Launcher shortcut from the desktop. a long (10-15-30 minute) Update process through which your ACDN game will be transformed into HDN. and thats it.

yes, but in My own case you dont, I Use both (vanilla ACDN) And HDN. However we all use HDN so it would be better if you get it
