The Map Rules
With
the Allied Grand Army continuing to close in on the increasingly run down and
weary Emperor Napoleon, another action is fought against great odds. Some
80,000 Allied troops under the command of Austrian Schwarzenberg
attacked 28,000 French, notably the Old Guard and Guard Cavalry. The feeling of
overwhelming odds is here given with 8,300 Allies (green) arrayed against a
French force of 5,800. The French have a timed goal to meet in order to win;
they must still control at least 2 of the 3 objective flags after 50 minutes
game time has expired (flag locations seen circled yellow on mini-map). If the
French defenders lose flags before 50 minutes has expired they may try to
recapture them so that at the allotted time they own at least 2 (flags turn
your color upon capture). If on the other hand, the Allies have succeeded in
gaining control of at least 2 flags when 50 minutes is up, they are declared
the winner. If it is clear that objectives cannot be met, even with time left,
the defeated team should surrender. Engineers are able to build redoubts and
explosives. No upgrades allowed.
