Author: [HWK]TheDrake (For AC & FB) Monongahela is the battle that seared itself into the minds of the British and the young George Washington. As a lesson in Indian fighting tactics and ambushed on his way to level Fort Dusquene, Braddock insisted his men keep formation against the crouching, running and yelping Indians (and French). This was a massacre and the column soon fled back across the river. A 4-person semi-proxy battle. A player may take blue colour (French side), green is added for extra player. British (red) must be played proxy. However, if they can level the fort they win. All up-grades available, an open map.
Author: [HWK]Bud (FB Only) Beautifully rendered by bud, who also made the AOW version, this is the Hawks first creation of a battle for FB in which Frederick the Great personally commanded. Frederick had turned his army (red) away from a siege to deal with a relieving army. The besieged town was the Saxon stronghold of Pirna. The relieving army was of Austrians (white), Saxony's ally. The two forces met, in equal strength (around 50,000 men) but it was the Austrians who were soundly beaten, losing more than 3,000 casualties. Pirna soon surrendered and 17,000 Saxon soldiers were pressed into Frederick's army. 4-person proxy-battle, closed map.
Author: [HWK]Bud (FB Only)Leuthen 1757 (Seven Years War) Like the series started by SirWilliam "Rebels and Redcoats", this is part of a series which will try to replicate many of the grand battles of Frederick the Great. Created by bud, many FB uniforms can be used to nearly replicate the actual look of the armies of this period, though there are the obvious exceptions (heavy cavalry filled in by Conquistadors maybe the most obvious). This was a monumental victory for Frederick as he used his classic oblique attack, circling around the enemies left flank. The Prussian army (blue) was also only 2/3rds the size of her Austrian enemy (red). Read material in download before playing.
Author: [HWK]Bud Kolin (FB Only) 1757 ( Seven Years' War) In May of 1757 Frederick the Great invaded Bohemia, smashed an Austrian army outside Prague and bottled it up in the city. The Empress Maria Theresa despatched Marshal Daun with 60,000 men to save the Empire's second city. Frederick had won a string of victories over the Austrians and was convinced his men would always triumph. Although outnumbered he attacked, but the Austrians were waiting. His army was defeated and forced to withdraw. As his veterans commented, 'they were not the same old Austrians at all'. Frederick's overconfidence proved his undoing at Kolin. The Prussians Blue attack the Austrians Red.
Author [HWK]Stu, Prague (FB Map) 1757 (Seven Years War). A bold attack by Frederick the Greats' Prussian army (blue) almost got bogged down and defeated as boots sunk into the marsh-land around the Moldau River and the Austrians (red) counter-attacked. The Austrians have constructed extensive re-doubts and are in a strong position on the top of a sloping hill. Will it be a frontal assault or a massive flank attack around the Austrian right? One up-grade for blue. Read all enclosed material.
Author [HWK]Stu, Hochkirk (FB Map) 1758 (Seven Years War). Frederick the Greats' second defeat in this war, after Kolin, it was almost his last. The Austrians not only surprised the Prussian army, they boldly maneuvered to surround and annihilate it! Frederick barely escaped. Two up-grades for Prussians, green must be added as computer ally. Read all enclosed material.
Author: [HWK]Bud and THE DRAKE (FB Only) This is a re-creation of the epic battle in which the forces of Frederick the Great (blue) and Russians (red) met on the field for the first time. Frederick had thought he would have an easy victory ahead of him. After losing 35% of his army and unable to press the attack further on his equally exhausted enemy, he had new respect for the stubborn courage of the Russians. Read A LL instructions before playing. This map also offers an alternative, historical way to play.
Author: [HWK]SittingBull (FB Only), This map is basically a 1/1 re-creation of the battle that ensured British dominance of North America and sealed the fate of their enemy in the French and Indian War. Wide open areas with plenty of room to maneuver and huge armies to do it with, this map also has a time-delayed aspect with French re-enforcements that may join after 30 minutes of play. Rules written on map.
Author: [HWK]TheDrake (For AC & FB) Minden was fought on the European Continent, the Allies (red) included British and German forces (here played by Spanish) under Earl of Brunswick. The French (blue) under Condates formed up with cavalry in the middle, as did the Allies, and attacked the British squares several times un-succesfully, a 4-person proxy-battle.
Author [HWK]Stu, Kunersdorf (FB Map) 1759 (Seven Years War). "I believe that everything is lost. I will not survive the doom of my fatherland. Farewell forever!" The words of Frederick the Great after this, his most crushing defeat. A hard map for the attacking Prussians (blue) who are 75% the strength of their enemy, they nevertheless have two up-grades. They are compelled to attack the (red) Austrian/Russian positions. Orange is allied color to red and limits garrisoning. Read enclosed material.
Author [HWK]Stu, Torgau (FB Map) 1760 (Seven Years War). This massive battle between Frederick the Great's Prussians (blue) and his Austrian enemies (red) is said to be the bloodiest battle of the 18th century. The Austrians also boasted the largest collection of artillery ever assembled on a battle field, inflicting a giant part of the Prussian's 17,000 casualties. Read enclosed material.
