| | | The Fifth Coalition 1809 < | | Raszyn (April 19th, 1809) Author: [HWK]Foxhound. Updated early 2009, this map still features the same challenge for the Polish/Saxon players as the original classic by [HWK]Kosciouzko; hold out against a superior Austrian onslaught. The scenery has been perfected using newer Hawks map making techniques and the objectives for the attacking Austrians has been modified (as seen on Tile Map). Though the Austrians have a time limit, and are forced to make use of limited crossings to achieve thir objectives, the defending forces still have a daunting task ahead of them. This is our largest EW map to date and game play requires at least 512 MB of RAM to play with no crashes. Ironically, this is also said to be the largest battle fought in history to this time with around 300,000 men taking the field. Napoleon secured the Danube river island of Lobau, built several bridges and crossed his army un-molested by the Austrians (green). Each side suffered around 40,000 casualties but the Austrians, their army cut in half and defeated, sued for peace. French (blue) attack, 1 upgrade each army, no fixed cannon.
